You Never Truly Fail Unless You Quit. Pick Yourself Up And Try Again.

Have you ever wanted something so bad you would do just about anything (within reason)? That's how I feel about music and performing arts. I love to sing and I love shaking a tail featha (dancing). The universe has placed people and experiences on my path in complete alignment with my goals. However, the law of attraction says "You must be in position to receive what you are seeking."

At the auditions last night I got nervous and held back the sass and spunk necessary to completely sell the songs and sell myself. Although I would consider this a huge mistake, it was an amazing learning experience. It humbles me. The next time I am put on the spot I will SHINE, Be My Self, and Be In The Moment: READY 4 WHATEVA :o) This is an unspoken requirement in the entertainment industry....any industry for that matter.

The good thing is, they liked me and they want to continue our relationship. This is AWESOME. I could've got sent home with the other girls who tried out but I am someone they want to keep around. That speaks volumes.

Auditions are in three hours :o) My stomach is flipping and I am trying to contain myself.

When I woke up this morning I said 2 myself "You got this. They want you. You are perfect for the job. You are the new background singer 4 Nikki Lynette." Confidence is the energy I must embody and exude if I am to nail this. I'm Every Woman, It's All In ME ;o) Singing and Dancing is my PASSION. It comes naturally. And so do the nerves.

As long as I Let Go, Get Into It and Perform Full Out, these Butterflies that are Flying Around in my belly will work 4 me and Lift Me Up.

As soon as I say to myself, "Fasting is a Breeze," my will-power is tested. I come outside to rehearse for auditions 2morrow and bring one bottle of water and one odwalla protein shake. After dancing and singing I feel hunger pains. Unfortunately, I drank all of the beverages.

My family is now sitting around me in the living room eating cheese pizza. I can smell all of the seasonings. They smell FIYE. And I feel my will growing stronger battling the urge to taste the pizza.

A: You Draw The Line and Remind Them That Your Relationship Is STRICTLY BUSINESS. Everything Else is Illusory.

I happen to work in what seems to be a male dominated industry. When brothers I work with express interest in me it creates an uncomfortable space, especially when I have make it clear that I am not going. I come to the studio to work, not to bone.

I have been advised to bring a friend with me whenever I am in the lab. As soon as I find one available to come along I will implement that into the regimen. It will serve as a buffer between myself and the male staff as well as eliminate the need for a baby sitter. With a girlfriend in the building I will have someone to watch my daughter. Sounds Like A Plan 2 Me. Any Volunteers?

This was a productive day. I sang "That's My Word" on Blog Talk Radio Thorough Thursdays and got a Great response. I was on the bus when I called in and a sister sitting to my right heard the song and was touched by it. It feels good to know the people can relate to me. Once we arrived downtown I sang "In Love With You." The birthday girl loved her soothing serenade :o)

Khari Lemuel and I are doing the ground work for my very 1st project :-D I am super charged about this music. The dream team is coming together. And my ELbum will be completed sooner than I originally thought. Everything is working out for the best. Give Thanks!
